Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann are in the final! German efficiency got the better of Brazilian tenacity on Saturday in the first women's semifinal of this A1 Beach Pro Vienna, as Müller/Tillmann dispatched Ágatha/Rebecca 2-0 (21-13, 21-14).
Unbeaten so far in this tournament, the German duo kept a cool head and steadily racked up the points to win the first set. Attempting to fight back, the Brazilians went ahead a couple of times in the second set but some sloppy errors, combined with ruthless attacking by the Germans, sealed their fate.
It was a perfect birthday present for Cinja Tillmann who turns 33 on Saturday. But this could be the last time we've seen the legendary Ágatha in Vienna as the 2015 world champion and 2016 Olympic silver medalist has hinted she will end her career at the end of the season.
