The first set initially suggests a duel at eye level, before Vergé-Dépré/Mäder completely lose the thread. Joana Mäder, in particular, is unable to show her service performance at all and allows the German team to win the set with a clear 21:14.
In the second set, it is once again Mäder who cannot bring her class to the clay, while Louisa Lippmann shines and conquers point after point. But in the final phase the tide turns in favor of the Swiss and a third set has to solve the match.
In the third set, neither of the two duos is able to pull away decisively at first. But a few block points by Louisa Lippmann were worth seeing and brought the decision. Laura Ludwig can continue to expand her extensive collection of medals with her new partner.
