Hüberli/Brunner secure first place in final

The Swiss European Champions of 2021 reach the final unconquered and keep their chance for another title in Vienna.

The beginning of the first set was dominated by Tanja Hüberli and Nina Brunner, who started the match perfectly with a 6:1 lead. But Laura Ludwig and Louisa Lippmann held their ground and turned the match around to 8:8 in the middle of the set. From this point on, neither team was able to pull away decisively until Nina Brunner converted the set point at 21:19 with a longline shot. 

The second set began evenly before Ludwig/Lippmann were able to take the lead with 4 points in a row and set the score at 10:7 from the German team's point of view. From this point on, the spectators in the Red Bull Beach Arena, who came in large numbers despite the rain, got to see an extremely close match. In the decisive phase it was the hour of Louisa Lippmann, who showed her talent and forced a deciding set. 

The beginning of set number 3 developed into a duel between Tanja Hüberli and Laura Ludwig, but neither was able to help her team to a decisive lead. The match remained a neck-and-neck race until the end before the Swiss women had the better end for themselves and became the first team to enter the final of the A1 CEV EuroBeachVolley Vienna 2023. There, it could come to a duel with the second Swiss pairing Joana Mäder and Anouk Vergé-Dépré.
