With a compelling performance in both sets, the last remaining German women's team earned its place among the final four of the tournament.
The audience in the Red Bull Beach Arena, which was packed despite the rain, was rewarded right from the start of the first set with rallies worth seeing and fantastic points. Laura Ludwig and Louisa Lippmann got off to the better start and quickly took a 10:5 lead, which the German pair did not relinquish and won the first set clearly 21:15.
The beginning of the second set was dominated by Emi van Driel and Brecht Piersma from the Netherlands, who were able to take a 3:1 lead. However, Ludwig/Lippmann quickly equalized and a duel on equal terms developed up to the middle of the set before Louisa Lippmann brought about the decision with a series of successful attacks to 21:15.
The women from Germany are now in the semifinals of the A1 CEV EuroBeachVolley Vienna 2023, where they will meet the previously unbeaten Swiss team Hüberli/Brunner tomorrow.
